"California, who's your sketch daddy?"  Kloss knnnnnowwws what you need.  Paintings?  Prints?  Posters?  Portraits?  Come get your sugar!

Jahn Kloss has drawn nationally syndicated comics and still illustrates "Caught in the KlossFire," one of California's longest running weekly newspaper editorial cartoon features.  This odd bird strutting the streets of Sacramento is deeply influenced by the Capital's politics.  For decades Kloss has been the resident artist of Sacramento's activist scene.  While sketching for the region's newspapers and magazines, Kloss has commented consistently in publications covering the last 5 California Administrations.  A former California State Senate Fellow, he witnessed the government "in-house."  Sketch Daddy often includes political and social content in his art, topics other artists shy away from.  "Politics makes strange bedfellows," as they say and Kloss has cozied up under the covers with many of the the great social movements of our time:  Environment, Peace & Justice, Education and Labor.  In other words, Sketch Daddy's client "black book" is extensive.  In the spirit of Daumier and Hogarth, he sees and reflects our community in a socio-politcial context, warts and all.  So, laugh and learn.  When he's out and about, he's usually at work, drawing, painting and teaching about our region's story.  No matter the medium Kloss is employing, his cartoonist mind beckons him to be playful with the issues and places of our time.

Sketch Daddy Kloss currently makes his home with his wife Debra, in sleepy suburbs of Southport, at the West Sacramanto Palace of Fine Art.  He instructs at the areas community colleges and is staff cartoonist at the Sacramento News and Reviews.
